Bangladesh chair of UN credentioals committee

DHAKA: Bangladesh was made  the chairman of credentioals committee of UN 69th general assembly and 29th specail session.

The disclosure came from a press release.

According tp the release, following the support of eight powerfull countries,  bangladesh has given the chairmanship of the committee.

Other member countries of the committee include China, USA, Russia, Denmark, Jemica, Namibia, Senegal and Brazil.

Bangladesh mission’s Counsellor Mohammad Mahmuduzzaman has played role as co-ornator in way to getiing the committeee chairmanship.

On September 19, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of bangladesh missin to UN Dr AK Abdul Momen joined first meeting of the committee.

In a reaction, he said confidence of other member countries of the committee is the achkonwlagment of Bangladesh’s  active  role at UN which is pride and honor for us.

A Credentials Committee is appointed at the beginning of each regular session of the General Assembly. It consists of nine members, who are appointed by the General Assembly on the proposal of the President.

The Committee reports to the Assembly on the credentials of representatives.
