NOAKHALI: Sea-truck plying between Noakhali and Haitya halted from Saturday due to heavy rain and rough weather.

As a result, Hatiya islanders are now disconnected from the district town, sources told banglanews.

According to the sources, sea-truck communications from Noakhali’s Chairman Ghat to Haitya’s Charchenga and Nalchira areas have been disrupting from Saturday.

Abu Taher, a sea-truck master in Charchenga, said both the two sea-trucks on the way from Chairman Ghat to Charchenga route are anchored after meteorology office advices to hoist signal three.

He, however, hoped that the water link would resume from Monday morning if the weather becomes normal.

On the other hand, the communications from Chairman Ghat to Nalchira is also now halted for rough weather.

Hatiya Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abul Hasnat Mohammad Mohiuddin confirmed the matter.
