BD envoy to US presents credential to Obama

DHAKA: The new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the USA Mohammad Ziauddin presented his credential to President Barak Obama on Thursday, says a press release.

President Obama welcomed the Ambassador in the Oval Office of the White House and received his credential papers.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Mohammad Ziauddin conveyed to President Obama the warm greetings of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh and also their warm invitation to him to visit Bangladesh as soon as convenient. 

Ambassador Ziauddin also said the Bangladesh and the USA enjoys the best of relations and that the USA has been to Bangladesh a time tested, trusted and reliable partner in its development and progress. 

Ambassador Ziauddin also stated that the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina deeply appreciates the support of the USA and other friends of Bangladesh in its fight against terrorism and all forms of extremism in the country. 

In response, President Obama said that the two countries would continue to work together in strengthening the bilateral relations, and for achieving our common goals.

He also said that the Ambassador would get all support in carrying out his work during his tenure in the USA.
