DHAKA: A teenage domestic help allegedly committed suicide at a residential flat in the city's Gulshan area on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Momena, 14.

She was used to working as a domestic help at the flat of Jahirul Islam, a businessman.

Jahirul’s relative Saiful Islam said that Jahirul and his wife went out of their residence keeping Momena locked in their flat. When they returned home at 9:00 pm, they found Momena hanging from the ceiling.

However, they took Momena to a local hospital and then at Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared her dead.

Her body was kept in DMCH morgue for autopsy.

In-Charge of DMCH police outpost Mojammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
