GAZIPUR: Two minor drowned in a pond in Konabari area of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Yusuf, 8, son of Mokhlesur Rahman of Solakura village in Belkuchu Thana of Sirajganj and Monir Hossain, 9, of Shukhi village in Gopalpur Thana of Tangail district.

Police said the two children might have drowned in the pond while taking bath around 1:00pm.

Later, police recovered the bodies from the pond around 3:00pm.

Sub-inspector Syed Azharul Islam of Konabari police outpost confirmed the matter to banglanews.
