DHAKA: The Court has framed the charge in Ramna bomb blast case with the inclusion of new section.

Earlier on September 4, special PP Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan appealed to judge Shahed Nur Uddin of 1st speedy trial tribunal for the additional inclusion of section-6 with section-3 in explosive act.

Court on Sunday accepted the appeal of the inclusion of section-6.

The court also fixed September 21 as the next date of deposition.

Nine of the 14 accused in the cases, including Mufti Hannan, Arif Hasan Sumon, Shahadat Ullah Jewel, Maulana Abu Taher, Maulana Abdur Rouf, Maulana Sabbir, Maulana Showkat Osman alias Sheikh Farid, Hafez Maulana Yahiaya and Maulana Akbar Hossain, who are in jail, were produced before the court.

Five other accused Maulana M Tazuddin, Hafez Jahangir Alam Badar, Mawlana Abu Bakar alias Hafaz Selim Haidar, Mufti Shafiqur Rahman and Mufti Abdul Hai remained abscond. 

On June 23, the same court gave the verdict over the murder case giving gallows eight people including Mufti Hannan and six others for life time imprisonment.

Those who sentenced gallows include Mufti Hannan, Maulana Akbar Hossain, Arif Hasan Sumon, Mawlana M Tazuddin, Hafez Jahangir Alam Badar, Mawlana Abu Bakar alias Hafaz Selim Haidar, Mufti Shafiqur Rahman and Mufti Abdul Hai.

On the day of the blast, Sergeant Amal Chandra of Babupura Police Station filed a murder case with Ramna Police Station.

Later, the Detective Branch (DB) and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police took over the case.

The blasts took place during the traditional celebrations of Bangla New Year 1408 organized by Chhayanaut at Ramna Batamul in city.
