Eviction drives at Malibagh-Moghbazar area

DHAKA: The law enforcers started drives to evict illegal establishments adjacent to the rail lines from Malibagh to Moghbazar areas for the third day in city on Sunday morning.

Railway authorities and Railway Thana police are jointly conducting the drives that started from 9:00am, it will continue till noon.

Dhaka Railway Thana Police Officer-in-Charge Abdul Mazid said that around 500 illegal shops and settlements have already been evicted and the drive will continue on a regular basis.

Earlier on Thursday morning, four people were killed and five others injured in Karwan Bazar rail crossing in city.

Later, following the incident the eviction drive started on Friday.
