DHAKA: Dr Mahbub Ullah, a former teacher of Dhaka University, was physically assaulted by a gang of miscreants at the premises of the Supreme Court on Saturday noon.

He was attacked while he came out from a book launching ceremony of BNP Standing Committee Member Barrister Moudud Ahmed.

The miscreants beat him mercilessly and torn his dress as well.

Sensing the presence of mass, the miscreants fled the place immediately.

Later, Dr Mahbub Ullah attended a rally addressed by BNP chief Khaleda Zia at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).

Khaleda blamed the government and said that Sheikh Hasina will have to take the liability of this attack.

She also said that the guilty people should be arrested shortly otherwise the government should quit.

Dr Mahbub Ullah said, “I am a teacher and I always try to speak truth.”

He also demanded proper justice of that incident.
