BD to exchange doctors with India

DHAKA: Bangladesh will exchange specialists and doctors with India for ensuring advanced health service between these two countries.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim came up with the disclosure in a bilateral meeting with the Health Minister of India Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday.

Nasim said, in the meeting, Harsh Vardhan has showed his interest to work together with Bangladesh in health sector.

He also said India is in advanced level in Ayurvedic treatment. “We also have many skilled doctors in our country. This exchange of experience and doctors is possible in these two countries,” he added.

Nasim also said the airborne diseases in the border areas can be controlled by this joint effort.

He also said the government has taken initiatives to provide health cards in ensuring free treatment for the poor people of the country.

“We can follow India and take opinions from them in this regard,” he added.

Mohammad Nasim also said that Bangladesh has a friendly relationship with India.

The Health Minister of India is also scheduled to meet the premier Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday.
