BRAHMANBARIA: Two people were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Chandura area at Bijoynagar upazila in the district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Mujibur Rhaman, 55, of Shahbajpur village of Sarail and Rouf Miah, 40, resident of Chandura.

Local people told banglanews that the drive of a stone-laden truck knocked two passers-by as the driver lost control over the steering, leaving them dead on the spot.

Khatihata traffic police camp In-Charge Abdun Nur confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to the Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital Morgue for autopsy, he added.

Law enforcers seized the vehicle though the driver managed to flee the spot, he added.
