BSF holds Bangladeshi in Panchagarh

PANCHAGAR: India’s Border Security Force (BSF) held a Bangladeshi national from Shing Road border area of the district on Thursday morning.

The detainee is a fisherman Aktarul Islam, son of Hemat Ali and resident of Pradhanpara village under Chaklahat union of the sadar upazila of the district.

BGB sources said that BSF personnel held Aktarul around 11:00am while he was fishing on the bank of river Pankha on the border line with India.

Confirming the matter, captain of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-18) Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Haque said that a flag meeting was held between BGB and BSF in this connection.
