DUBAI: No work permit at United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the Bangladeshi workers would possibly be issued before Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to the Gulf country in October.

Akm Mizanur Rahman, First Secretary at the Bangladeshi Consulate to Dubai, confirmed the matter banglanews.

He also said, “There is no possibility to open UAE visa’s with work permit before October. The premier will visit the country on October.”

“We might get over the complexities over the visa issue during her visit,” added Mizanur.

Earlier, confusion arose among the Bangladeshi people, who are eager to work at the gulf country and the Saudi Arabia, after an online news portal and a Bengali language daily separately published news item saying UAE was likely to issue visa to Bangladeshi workers.

Mizanur said those as “false news” and urged the expatriates not to be confused over the matter.

The UAE government closed issuing worker permits to Bangladeshi laborers on August 2012.
