Digital holding number for revenue bump

DHAKA:  Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has taken an initiative to digitize the holding numbers to accurate count the houses in the capital aiming to raise the revenue.

As per order of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) & Co-operatives Ministry, the DSCC took the initiatives to install digital system in counting holdings.

Earlier on July 10, chief executive officer of DSCC Md Ansar Ali Khan, during placing the DSCC budget, gave hints about the matter.

He, during the budget, said that though officially the holding total are 1,32560, it may be more now. To include the new holdings, door to door survey would be taken which would also diminish the tax evasion.

He also sought cooperation from the city dwellers for this action.

DSCC started installing digital holding numbers in Malibagh from August.  Prottasha Unnayan Sangstha and Samaj Kollyan Sangstha are jointly co-operating the DSCC.

Project consultant and chief revenue officer of DSCC Md Mostafa Kamal assured that the two private firms, who were appointed to do a survey to count holdings, would submit the report within six months.
