PM visits Tungipara Friday

GOPALGANJ: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will pay tribute at the grave of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, also founding president of Bangladesh, at Tungipara here on the National Mourning Day on Friday.

Sheikh Akter Hossain, the protocol officer of the premier, made the disclosure through a fax message to Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner on Thursday.

The PM will first place floral wreaths at the grave of Bangabandhu then offer fateha and join a munajat around 10:00am.

Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, will also be given a guard of honor by a team of three defense forces.

She will also join a milad mahfil at 11:00am.

Speaker, cabinet members, members of parliament and central leaders of the ruling party, will be among others present at the program.

Tungipara Upazila Awami League’s joint general secretary Solyman Biswas said that all the preparations have already been complete regarding the mourning day.

Gopalganj Police Superintendent Mizanur Rahman said, “Three tier security measures have already been taken in this regard.”

She is scheduled to leave for Dhaka at 9:15am.
