7 killed in N’ganj accident

NARAYANGANJ: At least seven people were killed and eight others injured as a truck plunged into roadside canal in Rupganj of the district on Saturday midnight.

The deceased were identified as Sushil Barman, 45, Swapon Chandra Barman, 16, Ripon Chandra Barman, 20, Babul Mondol, 35, Sushil Barman, 32, Subrata Barman, 40 and Dhanesh Barman, 40. They hailed from Naogaon district and were heading to Chittagong in search of work.

Officer-in-Charge of Rupganj Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and other clinics in the area. Some are in critical condition.

Police said that the truck along with 300 sacks of vegetables were recovered.
