NARAYANGANJ: A former Air Force staff was killed and five others were injured in a road accident in Siddhirganj area of the district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Ali Azam, 70, son of Cherag Ali, resident of the area. But his post in Air Force was not identified immediately.

Witnesses said that a rashly driven truck rammed into a motorcycle and some pedestrians in the area around 5:30pm, leaving Ali Azam dead on the spot and five others injured.

Two of them were injured critically and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Police seized the truck in this connection but the driver managed to escape the scene.

Sub-Inspector of Siddhirganj Thana Jahrul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
