Excess fee for KSA visa, BAIRA’s step likely

DHAKA: Two manpower recruiting agencies are allegedly buying the visa of Saudi Arab in higher price violating government rules on fixed fees for visa.

The visas are reportedly being sold at TK 6 lakhs and more or less.

Manpower recruiting agencies’ body Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) has moved for steps against the agencies those violated government rules.

In the mealtime, BAIRA warned the agencies concerned and sent a letter to the government asking to take actions against the agencies, which sold the visas in higher price.

Sources of Expatriate Welfare Ministry said, “A total of 1,322 visas were released by the KSA’s Seder Group Trading and Contracting Company.”

“Of those, Rabbi International Recruiting Agency bought 400 visas and Assurance Services Company Recruiting Agency bought 600 visas in excess price.”

“The agencies have already sold the visas at Tk 6 lakh each and trying to buy the rest of the visa,” the sources added.

BIRA president Abul Bashar told banglanews, “Government along with BIRA are trying to lower the immigration cost, for this reason, we (BIRA) asked government for taking actions against the agencies.”

Officials concerned at the ministry said, allegation has been found against two agencies for selling visa in excess price; action would be taken after investigation, even their licenses could be cancelled.”
