City under tight security during Ramadan

DHAKA: Special security measures have been planned by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) during the upcoming Ramadan and festival Eid-ul-Fitr.

DMP Commissioner Benazir Ahmed on Saturday noon briefed the journalists about their special measures for the upcoming holy month at their Media Center of city’s Mintoo Road.

He said that according to the Muslim’s faith, praying is much more important in this month than other months of the year.

Besides, at the end of this month Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated, which is the largest Muslim festival, he added. So markets and shopping malls are full of customers in this month.

“In this regard, DMP will work to ensure security at everywhere including roads, markets, mosques, etc,” said DMP Commissioner.

At that time, he also advised people to be careful at mobile banking transaction and to take help of police during large amount of money handling.
