BSF kills BD cowboy in Jessore

JESSORE: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly killed a Bangladeshi cowboy by beating here in Benapole frontier on Saturday morning.

Police recovered his body around 8:00am from the Charer Matt area of Bangladesh territory, though, the identity of the deceased couldn’t be known immediately.

Witnesses and other cowboys told banglanews that BSF troops chased a group of Bangladeshi cowboys and caught one of them while they were returning to the country early in the morning with their cows from over the border.

They alleged that the Indian border security forces beat up the Bangladeshi cattle trader mercilessly and dumped him near Charer Matt area along the border.

Later, his co-workers found him dead.

Being informed by locals, police and BGB recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of a local hospital.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 23-Battilion Commanding Officer (CO) lieutenant colonel Mostafizur Rahman said that the cowboy was beaten to death, that true.

But, whether the BSF committed it or not -- is yet to know.

However, a tense situation was prevailing in the border area following the incident.
