FROM SANGSHAD: Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury adjourned the budget session till Sunday afternoon.
The first budget of Tk 250,506 crore for the fiscal year 2014-15 of the incumbent government was proposed fixing the target of attaining a higher GDP growth of 7.3 percent.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith proposed the budget with Tk 67,552 crore deficit, which is 5 percent of GDP and over a fourth of the budgetary outlay.
The finance minister placed the 43rd national budget in parliament, expressing his hopes to be able to steer the economy out of the present pressures and problems.
After placing the budget Shirin Sharmin adjourned the house till Sunday.
The budget session has started on Tuesday.
