DHAKA: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide Bangladesh Tk 778 crore as loan for giving training men and women in creating skilled work force.
The Government of Bangladesh and ADB signed an accord of US $ 100 million (Tk 778 crore) at the Planning Commission at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in city on Wednesday afternoon.
Deputy Secretary of Economic Relations Division (ERD) Saifuddin Ahmed and ADB Country Director for its Bangladesh resident mission Kazuhiko Higuchi signed the accord on behalf of their respective side.
Saifuddin Ahmed said, “Our main scarcity is the shortage of efficient workforce.”
This treaty will help us to train around 15 lakh of men and women in various sectors, he added.
Workers from the readymade garments sector will get the priority in the training, deputy secretary added.
