FENI: A district court placed Awami League leader Belal Uddin, 45, who was held in Fulgazi Upazila chairman Ekramul murder case, on a five-day remand for police interrogation.

Feni’s senior judicial magistrate Khairul Amin on Thursday night passed the order in response to a 7-day remand plea.

Abul Kalam Azad, Investigation Officer of the case, confirmed the matter at 12:30pm Friday.

On Thursday, police arrested Belal Uddin, one of the planners of Fulgazi upazila chairman Ekramul Haque killing mission, from Matiranga upazila of Khagrachari.

In a cinematic style, miscreants shot Ekramul, the upazila Awami League president, and burnt to death at his own car in front of Bilashi Cinema in Academy area of the district town on May 20.
