Indian clothes worth Tk 2cr seized at Benapole

BENAPOLE: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized a truck of Indian clothes worth Tk 2.05 crore on Putkhali road in Port Thana on Thursday.

BGB sources said that acting on tip-off they conducted a drive in the area at noon. Sensing presence of the BGB, smugglers fled the scene leaving the clothes behind. 

Later, they recovered the contraband clothes including Sharee, three pieces etc from the truck.

Confirming the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Mostafizur Rahman, commander of BGB-23 said that the seized goods would be deposited to the Customs section.
