MYMENSIGH: A couple was hacked to death by miscreants in Akua Gorur Khowar area of Mymensigh Sadar of the district on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Haque, 55 and his wife Rayatunnesa, 50.

Locals said that a youth was trying to flee the spot then locals caught him who gave the information of bodies.

Confirming the matter, Mymensingh Police Super Moinul Haque said told banglanews, “There were several injury marks on their bodies. Police recovered a lethal weapon from the spot.”

Following the incident, police detained a man named Golam Mostafa, he added.
