RAJBARI: A 15-year old schoolgirl drowned in the Naran Babu Road area of Sadar Municipality of the district on Thursday noon.

The deceased was identified as Umme Nur-e Azam Medha, student of class-VII, and only daughter of Advocate Shafiqul Azam Mamun PP also joint secretary of district Awami League.

Family sources said Medha went to take bath in the pond of neighbor with her cousin Usha.

At a stage, Medha drowned but family members rescued her as Usha screamed for help and rushed to Sadar Hospital, they added.

She was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where on duty declared her dead, they added.
