KURIGRAM: A Kurigram court on Thursday awarded life-term rigorous imprisonment to six people in a murder case in Fulbari upazila of the district.

The court also released 20 people, including a woman, finding them innocent of the charge.

Additional District and Session Judge Nur Mohammad Shahriar Kabir passed the order.

The convicts are Mojibur Rahman, Bakiatullah, Nazir Hossain, Sofiqul Islam, Badshah Mia and Abdul Hakim.

On February 10 in 2010, convicts chopped Shamsul Haque over a clash about irrigation, leaving him dead on the spot.

Victim’s nephew Aynal Haque filed a case against 27 persons on that day.
