CHAPAINAWABGANJ: A four-year-old boy drowned in a ditch at Hotatpara village under Shibganj upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

The deceased was identified as Shuvo, son of Badsha Ali of the village.

Locals said Shuvo was playing with other kids near a mango garden. At one stage, he fell into the ditch, which was filled with rain water, and died.

Hearing other children’s screaming, local rushed in and recovered the body.
