DHAKA: BNP Standing Committee member Lt Gen (Retd) Mahbubur Rahman on Friday said leaking question paper is greatest crime.

He made the remarks when addressing a discussion titled “Question Paper Leakage, Education in Peril: Way out” organized by Bangladesh Kindergarten Teachers’ Association at the VIP Lounge of National Press Club in the city. 

Mahbubur said, “Children are the biggest resource of the nation, the primary school teachers hold responsibility to make children perfect human being, teachers are the maker of human.”

 “If corruption enters into the education system, the nation will run to the bad education (system) and the question paper leakage is the example of these,” he added.

Speaking at the function, noted film director Chashi Nazrul Islam opined that English medium school should be closed as students are not habituating the national culture there.

Nazrul said, “English medium students are not habituating the Bengali language and culture rather they are changing it, so the English medium should be closed.”

Presided over by association advisor Akbar Hossin Nantu, association chairman Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, additional secretary Zakir Hossain, among others, spoke at the function.

The association arranged the seminar to wage its 12-point demand including giving permission for registration on the rented house to establish Kindergarten school and cancellation of permanent deposit in reserve fund.
