Govt to go to int’l forum

DHAKA: The government would go to the international forum if upcoming Indian government disagrees on the issue of fair water sharing of Teesta River.

Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud made the remarks while addressing the Water Resources Assessment programme at BRAC Center Inn in Mohakhali area of the city on Wednesday.

Minister Anisul said, “Talks over fair share of Teesta water will be held once again with the new Indian government, to be elected through ongoing polls there.”

“If it (talks) does not come out fruitful, Bangladesh will seek right solution from the international forum,” he added.
