DMCH Emergency resumes service

DHAKA: Services at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) emergency unit resumed after four-hour halt, following a clash of interns with DU students and journalists Tuesday.

Interns suspended services and sent back new patients after they locked into clashes with DU students first and then with journalists there over trifle matter Tuesday.

The service resumed at 4:30pm after assurance from hospital authorities.

Earlier, interns and DU students from Shahidullah Hall locked into a scuffle over getting on a lift in the hospital. Later interns chased journalists when they went there to collect news. 

Interns stopped their services as some youths vandalized at the emergency department of the hospital in this connection at noon.

Belligerent interns behaved assertively and chased the journalists when they went to collect news on the scuffle.

They observed sit-in in front of the gate of the emergency department. Meanwhile, patients were being sent back.
