DHAKA: Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman HM Ershad Friday categorically said the replacement in party’s secretary general post was made in a bid to prove that there was no conflict between him and Raushan Ershad.

He came up with the assertion to the journalists at his residence around 11:15am.

“Ruhul Amin Howlader has been removed as anti Corruption Commission will check his resources,” he added.

He also said Bablu replaced Hawlader, who has served as the secretary general of the party for 14 years, to introduce a new face in the position.

Former President of the country also said, “Many people, both the party insiders and outsiders, think that there had been a long-standing dispute between me and Raushan. This appointment will curb the confusion.”

Mentioning that the government will stay in power for five years, he added, “We need new faces for boosting the strength of the party. This is why youths are being encouraged here.”
