NILPHAMARI: Two people were killed in two separate incidents in Dimla upazila and Uttara EPZ area of the district on Wednesday.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Bilkis Begum, 35, wife of one Sohidur Rahman from Uttar Tanti Para village of Dimla upazila.

Local sources said Bilkis was electrocuted while sweeping the house yard at Uttar Tanti Para village, leaving her injured critically.

Local people rushed her to Upazila Health Complex where on duty doctor declared her dead.

On the other hand, an old man was killed in a road accident on Nilphamari-Syedpur highway of Uttara EPZ area in the afternoon.

Sub-Inspector of Nilphamari Sadar Thana Ershadul Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
