SUNAMGANJ: A primary student died of wrong treatment at Chhatak upazila in the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Ranajit Das, 11, student of class-V at Jhamura Government Primary School, son of Matindra Das, resident of the area.

Family sources told banglanews that Ranajit was admitted to Jaba Medical Center. Later, he was referred Ranajit to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital after a wrong surgery.

But, on duty doctors of MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital declared him dead.

Following the incident, angry locals vandalized the private clinic Jaba Medical Center in the area immediate after the incident.

Officer-in-Charge of Chhatak Thana Shah Jalal Munshi told banglanews that law enforcers brought the situation under control.
