DHAKA: Director General of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Joan Miranda said the Padma Bridge is a necessity for Bangladesh but how it will be constructed and who will finance it, is not necessary.

Miranda came up with the observation while briefing after a meeting with finance minister AMA Muhith at the finance ministry on Monday.

The director general of ADB told journalists that the Padma Bridge is a very important project for the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.

This is a national project and any how it has to be implemented and the new government has told us that they would implement the project, Miranda added.

Miranda also applauded the internal power of the economy of Bangladesh but infrastructural development is necessary for the growth, which will create new jobs.
