Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has said that thousands of people have been killed in Bangladesh, but neither Sheikh Hasina nor her party has ever expressed regret for those killings.
He also alleged that false and misleading reports continue to be spread from India.
CA made the remarks on Wednesday (June 11) while replying to questions at a programme hosted by Chatham House – the Royal Institute of International Affairs – in London.
In response to a question, Dr Yunus said, “The tribunal has already started trial proceedings over the July-August genocide. This process will follow the legal path. Similarly, the matter of bringing Sheikh Hasina back will also proceed legally.”
He further said, “False and wrong news about Bangladesh continues to be circulated regularly from India.”
On the Rohingya issue, Dr Yunus said, “The Rohingyas must return to their homeland. We are working to ensure their repatriation. Discussions are ongoing at various international forums. A global conference is also being planned at the United Nations.”
