First Eid-ul-Azha jamaat held at Baitul Mukarram

The first Eid-ul-Azha jamaat has been held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka.

On the occasion, five congregations of Eid prayers are being held.

The first congregation began at 7:00am and ended at 7:10am. 

Several thousand worshippers took part in the first prayer both inside and outside the mosque.

Dr Khaleelur Rahman Madani, principal of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa in Jatrabari, led the first Eid prayer as imam. Md Abdul Hadi, a khadem of the mosque, performed duties as muqabbir.

The remaining Eid congregations will be held at the same venue throughout the morning.

According to the Islamic Foundation, the second prayer will be held at 8:00am, led by Dr Mawlana Abu Saleh Patwari, a mufassir of the foundation. Md Nasir Ullah will serve as the muqabbir.

The third congregation will begin at 9:00am, with Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, director of the Islamic Foundation, as imam. Md Billal Hossain will be the muqabbir.

The fourth prayer will take place at 10:00am, led by Mufti Md Abdullah. Md Amir Hossain will serve as muqabbir.

The fifth and final congregation will be held at 10:45am, led by Mawlana Mohammad Nur Uddin, a language instructor from the Islamic Foundation’s Dawah and Culture Department. Md Zahirul Islam will serve as muqabbir.
