RAJBARI: At least ten people, including female and child, were killed and over 35 others injured in a road accident in Basantapur area at Sadar upazila in the district early Friday.

Of the deceased, four were identified as Babu Fakir, 40, Supervisor of Global Paribahan, helper Mohammad Jewel, 35, and counter master Paresh, passenger Afsar, 35.

Banglanews Rajbari Correspondent said a Barisal-bound passenger bus of Global Paribahan collided head on with a bus of Eagle Paribahan in the area on Rajbari-Khulna highway, leaving two people dead on the spot and 35 others injured.

The injured were rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and Rajbari Sadar Hospital.

Later, eight injured succumbed to their injuries at hispitals.

Goalando Intersection Highway Police Outpost in-charge Nazim Uddin confirmed the accident to banglanews.
