Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed 13 more Bangladeshi nationals into the country through the Motua border in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni early Friday.
According to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), a patrol team of 4 BGB's Chhagalnaiya BOP found the group around 9:00am inside an abandoned house near the Motua border. Upon questioning, they said BSF blindfolded and tied them up before pushing them across the border at around 3:00am.
The group includes four men, three women, and six children. They said they had gone to India at different times to work at brick kilns. Due to stormy weather, darkness, and unfamiliarity with the area, they took shelter in an abandoned house after being pushed back.
The detainees were identified as Md Altaf (39), Momina Begum (32), Md Aminul Islam (38), Urmi Begum (29), Ohidul Islam (11), Md Rezaul Haque (9), Arifa Akhter (3), Mominul Haque (35), Shefali Begum (30), Monija Akhter (13), Monju Akhter (10), Ramzan Ali (3 months), and Md Ishrak Hossain (40).
BGB said they are being taken to Chhagalnaiya Police Station. The district administration has also been informed. Lieutenant Colonel Mosharraf Hossain, company commander of BGB, lodged a verbal protest with the BSF and said a written protest note is being prepared.
