Two people were killed and ten others injured after a truck ran over and hit two auto-rickshaws in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj on Friday morning.

The incident happened at Akbarnagar Bus Stand area on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab regional road.

The deceased were identified as Angur Mia, 45, of Jhagarchar area, and Halim Mia, 60, of Akbarnagar village in Kalikaprasad union of Bhairab.

According to Bhairab Highway Police and local sources, a timber-loaded truck lost control and ploughed through a group of people who came to the market. Both victims died on the spot.

The truck also hit two auto-rickshaws, injuring ten pedestrians and passengers. The injured were taken to different hospitals and clinics in the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station Md Shahabur Rahman confirmed the matter.
