The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra to hoist local cautionary signal number three due to squally weather expected to affect the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas.
A special weather bulletin from the BMD stated, "Deep convection is taking place over the North Bay and adjoining areas. Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh."
In response, the ports mentioned have been instructed to raise the cautionary signal as a safety measure.
Besides, all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have been advised to return to the coast and remain there until further notice.
