6 hurt in Meherpur bomb blast

MEHERPUR: Six people, including five construction workers, were injured in a bomb attack at a high school in Gangni Upazila of the district early Saturday.

The injured are night guard of the school Fakir Mohamamd, 65, head mason Kalon, 38, mason’s assistants Sarowar Hossain, Motiar Rahman, 38, Ruhul Amin, 25, Amirul Islam, 45.

The injured were taken to local hospitals.

Miscreants attacked the under construction building of Joyti High School around 3:30am when the workers fell asleep there.

Gangni thana officer in charge Masudul Alam told banglanews that on information, a team of police rushed to the spot and collected evidences.  But none filed any written complains.

After starting the construction work with TK 62 lakhs funded by Higher Secondary Education Engineering Department, miscreants launched bomb attack for three times demanding extortion, sources concerned.
