‘Al Qaeda threats govt on behalf of Jamaat’

DHAKA: Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Sunday alleged that Al Qaeda, through audiovisual message, threatened the incumbent government on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami.

He came up with the observation in a status update on social network site, Facebook on Sunday night.

The post reads as below….

“I find it very interesting that both Toby Cadman and Al Qaeda are both threatening our government on behalf of Jamaat. On one hand we have a paid lawyer and lobbyist filing false charges against the Government at the International Criminal Court on behalf of BNP-Jamaat terrorists who were pouring petrol on bystanders and setting them on fire. On the other hand you have the most wanted terrorist in the world, Ayman al-Zawahiri threatening our government because we have crushed his terrorist brothers that Cadman is trying to defend.

Personally, I feel both of these are really good things for our Government. The fact that Jamaat terrorists are trying to enlist the help of international terrorists and their legal representatives only proves that we are the good guys. I am overjoyed that terrorists hate and fear us! They should be afraid of the Awami League, very afraid.

The Government and the law enforcement agencies not only have a right, but they have a legal and moral duty to protect civilian life. If a terrorist is trying to set people on fire or detonate a bomb the police are obligated to use any and all force necessary to stop them. Given the choice between the life of an innocent civilian and a terrorist we must always chose to save the civilian.”
