RANGPUR: A mother along with her daughter was killed in a road accident on Rangpur-Pirgachha road on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Anamika, 3 and her mother Bulbuli Begum, 32, wife of Anwar Hossain of Pirgachha upazila.

Police sources said Bulbuli and her daughter were going to Rangpur by an auto-rickshaw. On way, Anamika fell down from the auto-rickshaw on the road.

When Bulbuli tried to pick Anamika up from the road a rashly driven passenger bus ran over them from behind, leaving them dead on the spot.  

Hearing the incident, angry locals put the barricade the road for hours and later police brought the situation under control.
