BARISAL: A Barisal court on Tuesday awarded death penalty to two siblings and lifetime imprisonment to three other siblings for their involvement in sensational five murder case.

Barisal first Additional Session Judge Matiar Rahman passed the order around 12:00 noon.

The convicts are Shahjahan Boiragi, 55, his brother Shahed Boiragi, 50, Abul Basar alias Badsha Khan, 45, his brother Kaium Khan, 44 and Sultan Khan, 40.

Quoting case statement, public prosecutor of the court Giasuddin Kabul said miscreants slaughtered Tanzia Begum, her four daughters--Anjuman, Sathi, Jannat and Ferdousi--in Mehendiganj upazila of the district on June 30, 2008.

Later on July 1, Nuruzzaman, security guard of the area, filed a murder case in this connection.
