DHAKA: Jamal Uddin Ahmed has been appointed again as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

A full-flagged Board of Directors is going to be constituted by Prime Ministers’ Office on Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, PM office finalized the appointment of Jamal Uddin as chairman of the national flag carrier.

A competent source of Biman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On December 30, the board of director has been dissolved in the annual general meeting (AGM) of Biman, where five members out of nine directors were selected from various ministries and four others from private sector, professionals or teachers.

From then, Jamal Uddin Ahmed is lobbying with government high-up to be the chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines for second term.

Several competent sources of Biman said all except Mejbah Uddin, who were members of recently dissolved board of directors, is going to be disqualified.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines had incurred Tk214 crore losses during the fiscal year 2012-13. The information has been disclosed in the last AGM. For this reason, the board of directors has been dissolved.
