NATORE: Three people were killed in a road accident on Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway in Agran area under Baraigram upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as truck driver Selim, 35, helper Nazrul, 22 and labourer Meher, 25.

Confirming the matter, Bonpara highway police sergeant Nikunja Kumar told banglanews, “Four trucks knocked one another from behind and a cement-laden truck in front plunged into a roadside ditch at 7:00am, leaving three dead on the spot.”
 
The accident occurred due to poor visibility caused by dense fog, the sergeant added.
