MANIKGANJ: Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatia river route came to a halt since Tuesday night due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Sources said that the authority has stopped the ferry services from 11:30pm to avoid accident.

Confirming the matter, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC)’s Paturia Ferry Ghat Assistant Manager (commercial) Mohiuddin Russell told banglanews, “The ferry services will resume when the fog cleared.”

He also said that more than four hundred vehicles remained stranded in both sides of the river for ferry disruption.
