MANIKGANJ: Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia river route resumed Tuesday morning after a 6-hour disruption due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Assistant manager of Paturia Ghat (Commerce) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) said to banglanews that due to dense fog, BIWTC authority stopped ferry movement on the route to avoid accident.

Traffic gridlock was created at Paturia and Daulatdia ferry terminals for the ferry service disruption but now the movement is normal, he said.

The ferry service resumed around 8:00am when the fog disappeared.
