A young man and his nephew were killed after a pickup hit their motorcycle in Faridpur's Boalmari upazila today (March 5).

The accident took place around 6:30 am on the Mazkandi-Bhatiapara regional highway in Billahuri area of the upazila.

The deceased Imran Sheikh, 31, son of Muhammad Sheikh, and Naeem Sheikh, 28, son of Ziaur Rahman Sheikh hailed from Char Hatkhola village in Maina union of the upazila.

According to police and locals, the two were going to Dhaka riding on a motorcycle early in the morning. When they reached the area, a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction ran over their motorcycle, leaving them dead on the spot.

Boalmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam confirmed the news.
