A youth was killed after two motorcycles collided head-on in Polashbari area of Gaibandha on Thursday (Feb 22).

Deceased Swadesh Chandra, 23, succumbed to injuries at Rangpur Doctors Clinic at 4 am.

According to deceased uncle, Swadesh just finished his studies on graphics designing from an institution in capital’s Mohammodpur. “On Wednesday, my nephew was returning home in a bike from Polashbari union area. Later, on the way another bike coming from opposite direction collided at Bogura bus stand area.”

After the incident Swadesh was first rushed to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital later shifted to Doctors clinic, where he died, said uncle.

Officer-in-Charge of Palashbari Police Station (OC) Arju Md. Sajjad Hossain confirmed the matter.

The deceased was son of Sudev Chandra-Tapati Rani, the family hails from Durgapur village of Mahdipur union of Swadesh upazila. Father Sudev Chandra died of heart disease a year ago, the officer said .
